Our team
|
The Herbal Dispensary team of qualified practitioners are passionate about preventative medicine; they consider good health to be more than the absence of disease and more about strong vitality. There are many warning signs the body gives us when life is out of balance. We aim to help people identify these signs. The emphasis of treatment is holistic, where physical, emotional and mental health of the inner self, are all taken into consideration. The Herbal Dispensary and clinic dispenses herbal and homeopathic prescriptions from local medical herbalists, medical doctors, homeopaths and naturopaths.

Over the counter advice
|
Qualified medical herbalists, naturopaths, classical homeopaths and pharmacists are available to discuss, free of charge, simple health queries over the counter during the Dispensary's opening hours:
Mon-Fri 8.30am-6pm
Sat 9.30am-2pm for herbal prescriptions though Dispensary is open 9am-5pm
Sunday 10am-4pm (no herbal prescriptions)

Consultations
|
For more complex cases or for those who prefer, private consultations are available by appointment. During a herbal, homeopathic or naturopathic consultation the problem is examined, including assessment of diet, lifestyle and emotional factors and underlying causes are determined. A treatment programme is prescribed that may involve one of the following: herbal mixtures, herbal and nutritional supplementation, bach flowers, homeopathic remedies, herbal powders, teas or topical applications. These will be individually formulated and prepared in the pharmacy's herbal dispensary. When indicated other services offered may be suggested such as massage, shiatsu, bowen therapy or reflexology. Practitioners often spend time away from the consultation researching and developing their patient's treatment regime. This is included in the consultation fee .All practitioners in our dispensary recognise the need for conventional medical practitioners. The dispensary practitioners are well versed in safe use of natural remedies alongside pharmaceutical medicines.

Medical Herbalist and Clinical Nutritionist with over 10 years experience in successful private practice. Angela will help identify underlying causes of ill-health, tailor an individualized treatment plan and includes a strong emphasis on dietary and lifestyle management for long-term results.

Autumn Falk, Naturopath and Shiatsu Practitioner
Works with natural medicine, bodywork and iridology. Her focus is to combine Shiatsu, herbal remedies and dietary advice to prevent illness and to support the body's natural healing ability to restore optimal health.

Graduated from the Naturopathic College of NZ in 2003 with a Diploma in Naturopathy and enjoys working with people to attain better health. Also offers massage therapy.

Hannelore Kemme, Bowen Therapy (Bowtech)
Helping people since 2004 using this gentle and effective technique with lasting results. Conditions that respond well to Bowen Therapy include: muscular skeletal problems, digestive issues, respiratory issues, allergies, fatigue and hormonal issues. Also qualified in Homeopathy for Animals (DipHom) and Small Animal Bowen Therapy.

Jo Douglas, Bach Flower Practitioner, Student Homeopath
Jo has a particular interest in working with clients wanting to benefit from deep relaxation, stress relief, depression and anxiety and uses a combination of Reiki energy healing, Shiatsu theory and philosophy and Bach Flower remedies as part of her treatment. She is also in her second year of training towards a Diploma in Homeopathy and is available for acute consultations.

Paul Johnson, Acupuncturist
Paul has been working in natural medicine, firstly as a Homeopath and now as an Acupuncturist, since 1995. Having begun his homeopathic studies here in Tauranga Paul continued studying and subsequently practicing in London gaining a Bachelors degree in Chinese Medicine/Acupuncture from the University of Westminster. Paul is currently a member of the British Acupuncture Council and the New Zealand Acupuncture Standards Authority as well as a being registered ACC provider taking referrals from GP's, Physiotherapists, Osteopaths and Chiropractors.
