About Us
|
We are a small, friendly team based in the heart of Auckland City. Our
aim is to improve your health and well-being, and relieve your pain and
discomfort as quickly and effectively as possible. We will not tie you
into any long term contracts. Our goal is to get you moving!
Central City Osteopaths opened in March 2014. The idea for this clinic arose after treating many people at our Rosedale practice
who worked in the city. Those clients would rush over the bridge after
work to catch one of the late appointment times. We hope that our
central location and our easy online booking system will provide a service that is easily accessible to all in the Auckland CBD during their working day.

Taz Darragh - Owner and Principal Osteopath
Taz graduated from Unitec New Zealand with honours in the Master of
Osteopathy program. He holds a current annual practicing certificate
with the Osteopathic Council of New Zealand, is a member of Osteopaths
New Zealand and is an ACC registered provider. Taz owns and practices at
both Central City Osteopaths and Shore Osteopaths in Rosedale.
Taz
completed his research thesis on shoulder pain, investigating the best
methods for the rehabilitation of those with shoulder
impingement syndrome - a common diagnosis of shoulder pain. Having
completed extensive research on shoulder pain he is now highly regarded
in this area.
As well as shoulder pain Taz has a special
interest in workplace injuries and discomfort. By far the most common
complaint Taz treats is upper back and neck pain, and headaches. Taz's
treatments are effective and based on structural osteopathic techniques
including spinal manipulation, soft-tissue massage techniques, and
joint mobilisation.
Taz works on a part-time basis at Unitec New Zealand, assisting current Masters students in the osteopathic clinic on campus.
Outside of osteopathy Taz has an avid love of food, fishing and boating, and getting away on camping adventures with his family.
Ray Daniels - Osteopath
After graduating from Unitec with a Master of Osteopathy degree Ray
began his career in Whangarei. He quickly built a strong rapport with
people in the community who benefited from his treatments. His
personable approach, easy going nature and passion for finding the root
cause of any complaint set him apart from others. Ray found his time up
north extremely valuable as it exposed him to people of all ages and
professions – be it a farmer with lower back pain, to an office worker
with classic upper back, shoulder and neck issues.
Ray developed a
passion for Osteopathy after he saw an Osteopath himself due to lower
back pain from playing rugby. After experiencing the benefits of
Osteopathy, Ray became a ‘student for a day’ while still at school to
see what the five year study would involve. He then applied and
committed himself to becoming a qualified Osteopath. Ray strongly
believes that the body works as a unit and can be affected by and/or
influence other areas of the body.
Jane McCulloch - Osteopath
Jane McCulloch graduated from Unitec with a Bachelor of Applied Science
and Masters of Osteopath degree. Her interest in osteopathy grew from
experiencing the benefits of treatment since she was a child. Ten years
experience as a sports and therapeutic massage therapist, including
working with professional NRL players, compliments Jane's understanding
of the body and her osteopathic practice.
Jane enjoys working
with a wide range of people to support a process through osteopathy that
enables them to be active members of their family, community and work
environments and to achieve movement goals that inspire good health and
living. A particular interest is working with people with chronic pain
that may arise from postural compensation patterns and physical trauma.
To
ensure a balanced lifestyle that reflects her philosophy on health, Jane
takes time outside of osteopathy to indulge her passion for food and
entertaining, gets to the ocean as often as possible and makes the most
of the natural environments easily accessible from Auckland.
