Clinic days are Tuesdays 9am to 4pm with Barbara Vail Middleton CNS Otology.
Fridays from 8.30 am to 4pm with Kahn Bury, Ear Nurse Specialist.

If you are booking online - please follow the instructions carefully when you choose your appointment date. Please make sure the person you are booking in is the name on the appointment. Please fill in any comment you may have of any issues in the "comment" section before you click on "confirm booking". This includes first, or follow up appointments. Please notify me as soon as possible if you need to cancel appointment to allow the time to be reallocated.

Payments are made on the day of the appointment either by cash or by Eftpos. No credit cards are accepted. Any overdue payments can have additional costs.

About Barbara Vail Middleton
|
I am a registered nurse with 35 years experience and have been through a credentialed (recognised) national training program in middle ear & outer ear canal conditions, and after 3 years qualified as a Clinical Ear Nurse Specialist. I have been in the specialty of Otology for 35 years, initially 10 years in a free children's community mobile ear clinic and since 2000 in the hospital system seeing both adults and children in booked clinics in the Waitemata District Health Board in the outpatient departments of North Shore and Waitakere hospitals. I have a Master of Health Science in advanced nursing, also am a member of the National Clinical Nurse Specialists Society.
I am an expert in the field of microscopic Otology, diagnosis, correct treatment decisions and follow evidence based guidelines along with Otological (ear) medications advice. I provide education in all aspects of this specialty to patients, family, community groups, allied health professionals, medical and nursing students, and trainee ear nurses.
I am a member of the National Ear Nurse Specialist Group Inc Society NZ and a fellow of the College of Nurses, New Zealand, as well as the NZNO (New Zealand Nurses Organisation).
I accept self referrals for adults and parental referrals for children, as well as from Ear Nose & Throat (ORL) Consultants, Paediatricians, General Practitioners, Audiologists, and other Health professionals. I have support, consultation and mentoring by several ENT consultants. I can refer to all of the above as well as other health professionals.
